When you are unable to go to the library, you create your own collection of reference works! Here are a few useful links that I have stumbled upon during my research studies.

Primary Research Sources

• Census – The Census Bureau's mission is to serve as the nation's leading provider of quality data about its people and economy.
• Congress – U.S. Congress legislation, Congressional Record debates, Members of Congress, legislative process educational resources presented
• Electoral College – Electoral College National Archives
• Library of Congress – Limited researcher access to restricted digital resources is available on-site by appointment only. Online services, resources available.
• Department of Labour – The Department of Labor provides compliance assistance to small business through “elaws”, an interactive exchange that allows small business owners to ask questions about labor laws.
• Science Direct – Research database used for education.

• Brookings – The Brookings Institution is a nonprofit public policy organization based in Washington, DC.

Online Dictionary

Okay, okay, okay, there are a LOT of dictionary links below. I like to review various ways that dictionaries define words. This is the best that I can do since I don't have access to the multi-volume version of the Old Oxford Dictionary set. I learned from a librarian many years ago that the Oxford Dictionary volume set provides the best word etymology.
